Girift is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Istanbul, specializing in interior architecture, hospitality design, product design, and branding. Our primary objective is to craft fresh identities and distinctive environments by comprehending the target audience, the ambiance of the space, and the underlying concept's narrative. Through our work, we look for spaces that move us beyond the ordinary. Our philosophy is to create iconic and lasting design within the fields of interiors and products, with an intense focus on the crafted details. By removing the hierarchy between different scales and dissolving the boundaries, we create spatial experiences that exceeds all expectations and create valuable new memories. Our ability to manage multiple elements in every project allows us to create unique, refined spaces that leave their users inspired and engaged. Emrah Halimoglu
He graduated from Yeditepe University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture. With over 20 years of experience in the design field, which includes working on numerous projects such as restaurants, cafes, hotels, night clubs, movie theaters and fitness clubs. Throughout his career, he has held key roles as a head designer and project manager, collaborating with some of the most prestigious companies in the industry. Notably, several of his designed projects have received international acclaim and earned prestigious awards. Drawing profound inspiration from heritage and culture, he consistently strives for a holistic and interdisciplinary approach in his work. His distinctive style is characterized by the fusion of his programming skills with a boundless curiosity for technology, resulting in the creation of unique and innovative design concepts.
Selin Sozer Halimoglu
After graduating from Istanbul Technical University with double major in Interior and Landscape Architecture in 2012, she attended a short program course at UAL Central Saint Martin’s College in Fashion Design. During her education, she participated in various architectural competitions, winning multiple awards, and her final year project was exhibited at the Barcelona Biennale. Over her professional career of more than 15 years, she has worked as a design director at leading firms, with her projects gaining international recognition and prestigious awards. Her interdisciplinary approach allows her to harmonize design elements across different scales, delivering unique and innovative projects. She integrates functional, aesthetic, and narrative aspects into her designs, ensuring each project is distinctive and cohesive.
In addition to their professional work, they participate design studios as jury members in Istanbul Technical University.
